Baseball Recap: Harper Woods Comes Up Short

Harper Woods extended their losing streak to eight on Monday, dropping their season record down to 4-8 in the process. They came up short against the Seaholm Maples, falling 10-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Maples this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 on Monday.

As for Seaholm, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by seven runs or more this season.

For Seaholm's part, they got a great performance from Aaron Vandemark as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Nick Davis was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Matthew Strawn, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

While Harper Woods had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
