Baseball Recap: Antietam Mountaineers vs. Oley Valley Lynx
Antietam had lost three straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 3-11 to make it four. They lost 9-2 to the Oley Valley Lynx. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Mountaineers couldn't push the score so high this time.
As for Oley Valley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games.
For Oley Valley's part, Luke Petersen and Nicholas DeBalko made a splash no matter where they played. Looking ahead, Antietam will take on Tulpehocken at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mountaineers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Oley Valley, they will face off against Kutztown at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
