Softball Game Preview: Orange Lions vs. Harvey Red Raiders

Orange is 1-8-1 against Harvey since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Lions will venture away from home to take on the Red Raiders at 5:00 p.m. Orange is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.2 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Orange earned an 8-4 victory over Villa Angela-St. Joseph. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Kelsey Lewis was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three RBI. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. Emma Saks also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Harvey's offense. They lost 10-0 to Elyria Catholic on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Red Raiders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Having lost for the first time this season, Harvey fell to 3-1. As for Orange, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Everything went Orange's way against Harvey in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Orange made off with a 22-5 victory. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Red Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
