In other batting news, Richie Farris was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Gabby Sotelo, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
East Nicolaus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Durham only posted a batting average of .172.
Durham has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for East Nicolaus, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. East Nicolaus has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Durham struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
