Volleyball Recap: David City's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but David City unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Lincoln Lutheran Warriors by a score of 3-2. If the Scouts were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Warriors when the teams met back in October of 2016, then they'll just have to keep looking.

David City wouldn't go down easily and took Lincoln Lutheran into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking nine-point loss. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-15, 15-25, 21-25, 15-6.

Kamryn Behrns paced David City's offense, picking up 20 kills. Behrns got some help from Bella Heins and her 23 assists. Heins was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

David City's loss dropped their record down to 22-9. As for Lincoln Lutheran, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-6 record this season.

David City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Concordia on the 1st. As for Lincoln Lutheran, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Clarkson/Leigh on the 1st.
