Volleyball Recap: Cheylin Find Success

Cheylin's tournament run continued when they took on Hugoton on Saturday. The Cougars had just enough and edged out the Eagles 2-1.

Taylor McCarty paced Cheylin's offense, picking up 21 kills. McCarty got some help from Ashlyn Schields and her 29 assists. Schields also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Emily Serrano, each putting up three.

Cheylin has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. As for Hugoton, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-23.

Cheylin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Oakley on the 4th. As for Hugoton, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Hitchcock County on the 4th.
