The High Tech SD Storm will take on the El Cajon Valley Braves at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. High Tech SD is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
High Tech SD made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Castle Park, but they still couldn't quite topple them. High Tech SD never let Castle Park get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Storm as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Devon Caris made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because High Tech SD is 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 0-4 otherwise. Caris was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jesse Rubio was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikey Ortiz, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases and two RBI.
High Tech SD kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, El Cajon Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 17-2 to High Tech CV.
El Cajon Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Vargas, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Vargas also put up a double, which was his first of the season.
El Cajon Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for High Tech SD, their record now sits at 3-5.
High Tech SD's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's match. High Tech SD has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for El Cajon Valley, though, as they've been averaging only 0.6 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will High Tech SD continue to outrun the ball?
High Tech SD was able to grind out a solid victory over El Cajon Valley in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 8-4. Does High Tech SD have another victory up their sleeve, or will El Cajon Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
