Basketball Recap: Mt. Pleasant Comes Up Short

Mt. Pleasant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 65-31 loss at the hands of the Lincoln School Lynx. The Kilties were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lynx apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2021.

Lincoln School's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sarah Berube, who posted 32 points and five steals. Those 32 points gave Berube a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Reign Whiteing, who had 17 points along with four steals and three blocks.

Mt. Pleasant's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Lincoln School, they pushed their record up to 17-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Mt. Pleasant wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 35-19 loss against Hope on the 11th. As for Lincoln School, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-33 victory against Times Squared Academy on the 10th.
