Volleyball Recap: Six Straight Home Wins for Ryle

Ryle's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Frederick Douglass Broncos by a score of 2-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in September.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-20.

Layna Wilkinson paced Ryle's offense, picking up seven kills. Wilkinson got some help from Clare Holtzapfel and her 11 assists. Morgan Gehring controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Ryle's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-13. As for Frederick Douglass, with the loss, they broke their four-match winning streak and moved their record to 11-15.

Coincidentally, Ryle and Frederick Douglass will both be playing Elizabethtown the next time they take the court. The Raiders will head out to face the Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Broncos will play them later in the day, at 11:30 a.m.
