Basketball Game Preview: Shorecrest Scots vs. Lynnwood Royals

The Shorecrest Scots will head out on the road to square off against the Lynnwood Royals at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Shorecrest will be strutting in after a victory while Lynnwood will be coming in after a defeat.

Shorecrest took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 64-56 win over Mountlake Terrace.

Meanwhile, Lynnwood came up short against Edmonds-Woodway on Friday and fell 41-33. The Royals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Lynnwood saw an underclassman step up: freshman Lexi Tamayo posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Vanessa Olivar, who scored seven points.

The victory got Shorecrest back to even at 7-7. As for Lynnwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.

Everything came up roses for Shorecrest against Lynnwood in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 75-32 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Shorecrest since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
