Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Defeat Ends East Buchanan's Winning Streak

If East Buchanan was feeling good fresh off their 87-27 takedown of Starmont last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The East Buchanan Buccaneers took a 61-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Springville Orioles on Tuesday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buccaneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-48 back in December of 2024.

With the defeat, East Buchanan broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-5. As for Springville, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Buchanan will venture away from home to face off against Dunkerton at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Springville, they are taking a road trip to take on Maquoketa Valley at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Maquoketa Valley will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something Springville surely won't give up without a fight.
