Preview: Northside Methodist Academy Knights vs. New Brockton Gamecocks

Northside Methodist Academy is 6-0 against New Brockton since December of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Northside Methodist Academy Knights will head out on the road to face off against the New Brockton Gamecocks at 5:30 p.m. on January 26th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Northside Methodist Academy beat Houston Academy 31-24. Given Northside Methodist Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while Houston Academy is ranked 356th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, New Brockton can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Pike County 69-17 at home. Winning may never get old, but New Brockton sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Ariana Smith and Reese Eddins were among the main playmakers for New Brockton as the former scored 18 points along with five assists and four steals and the latter scored 17 points along with three steals. Eddins continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Casey Williams, who scored ten points along with two steals.

Northside Methodist Academy pushed their record up to 18-6 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for New Brockton, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Northside Methodist Academy won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, slipping by New Brockton 45-44. Will Northside Methodist Academy repeat their success, or does New Brockton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
