Flag Football Game Preview: Culver City Centaurs vs. Santa Monica Vikings

The Culver City Centaurs will take on the Santa Monica Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Culver City's defense has only allowed 13.8 points per game this season, so Santa Monica's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Culver City's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 41-0 win over Centennial. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Centaurs.

A big part of Culver City's victory came down to the chemistry between Hailey Gonzalez and her top target Kennedy Naylor. Gonzalez threw for 160 yards and five TDs while completing 82.4% of her passes while Naylor picked up 60 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Those 60 receiving yards gave Naylor a new career-high.

Culver City didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Maylynn Gloss, Josephine Smith, London Cunningham, and Naylor picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, Santa Monica strolled past Inglewood with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 26-7. The Vikings pushed the score to 26-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Sentinels cut but never quite recovered from.

Culver City's record now sits at 7-10. As for Santa Monica, their record is now 9-5-1.

Culver City might still be hurting after the 22-0 loss they got from Santa Monica in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Centaurs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
