Preview: Newington Nor'easters vs. Windsor Warriors
The Newington Nor'easters will be playing at home against the Windsor Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Newington will be looking to keep their 15-game home win streak alive.
In what's become a running theme this season, Newington gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 63-34 win over RHAM at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-13.
Newington got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bela Cucuta out in front who scored 19 points along with three blocks. Cucuta is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Kendall Miller was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five assists and three steals.
Windsor aren't just finding sucess at home, as their game on Saturday extended their overall winning streak to four. Everything went their way against Somers as Windsor made off with a 64-43 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Windsor has posted yet this season.
Newington's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Windsor, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season.
Newington was able to grind out a solid victory over Windsor in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 52-45. Does Newington have another victory up their sleeve, or will Windsor turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
