Football Preview: Huntsville Hornets vs. Port Neches-Groves Indians
The Huntsville Hornets are taking a road trip to square off against the Port Neches-Groves Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Huntsville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 30 points per game this season.

Traeshawn Brown was his usual excellent self, rushing for 162 yards and four TDs. Those four rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zarien Adolphe, who rushed for 99 yards on only ten carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Huntsville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 279 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 194 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Huntsville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Brenton Carroll and Trae Scott. Meanwhile, Port Neches-Groves strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past Lake Creek 45-21. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-0.
Port Neches-Groves' record is now 4-0. As for Huntsville, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Huntsville couldn't quite finish off Port Neches-Groves when the teams last played back in October of 2024 and fell 24-21. Can the Hornets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
