Softball Game Preview: Pleasure Ridge Park Panthers vs. Cooper Jaguars

The Pleasure Ridge Park Panthers will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Cooper Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cooper took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Pleasure Ridge Park, who comes in off a win.

Pleasure Ridge Park is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Presentation. Pleasure Ridge Park blew past Presentation 23-3 on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Toppers: they've now won three in a row.

Kylie Barker was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Barker was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Catherine Wright was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Avianna Burks was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, Cooper was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Bryan Station, falling 11-1.

Pleasure Ridge Park might still be hurting after the 15-3 loss they got from Cooper in their previous matchup back in April of 2022. Can Pleasure Ridge Park avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
