Interlachen is a perfect 5-0 against Hawthorne since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Rams will host the Hornets at 7:00 p.m.
On Tuesday, Interlachen didn't have quite enough to beat P.K. Yonge and fell 6-5.
Cason Turner put in work no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Turner wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jed Thompson, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI. That hit marked the first that Thompson has got this season.
Meanwhile, Hawthorne had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over Countryside Christian on Monday.
The team relied heavily on Tison Thomas, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Jacobs, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Hawthorne kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Interlachen's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Hawthorne, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Interlachen has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Hawthorne struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Interlachen's way against Hawthorne in their previous matchup back in February of 2025, as Interlachen made off with an 11-4 victory. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
