Softball Recap: Denbigh Gets the Win

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contest, Denbigh brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They walked away with a 12-7 win over the Bethel Bruins on Friday. Considering the Patriots' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Syniah-Ali Benton made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Benton was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Jalynn Anthony was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Alexis Green was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three runs and one RBI.

Denbigh's record is now 9-10. As for Bethel, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Denbigh will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bruins: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
