Volleyball Recap: Mullen Comes Up Short

Mullen lost against Cherokee Trail back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mustangs came up short against the Cougars, falling 3-0. The Mustangs' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Mullen was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-21, 25-12.

Ben Rogers paced Mullen's offense, picking up nine kills. Rogers got some help from Razi Daugherty and his 15 assists. Daugherty was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Mullen's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Cherokee Trail, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-10.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Mullen is set to face off against their familiar foe Eaglecrest at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Cherokee Trail will square off against rival Littleton Public Schools at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
