Football Recap: Plattsmouth Blue Devils vs. Lexington Minutemen
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Skutt Catholic, Plattsmouth was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the Lexington Minutemen 48-7 at home. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Blue Devils considering their seven-point performance the match before.
A big part of Plattsmouth's victory came down to the chemistry between Levi Walker and his top target Bradin Vanwinkle. Walker rushed for 180 yards and two touchdowns while Vanwinkle rushed for 93 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. With that strong performance, Walker is now averaging an impressive 105.5 rushing yards per game. Henry Loontjer made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Plattsmouth was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 350 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2023.
