Shamokin Area is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took their match with ease, bagging an 82-48 victory over Milton. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 games by 20 points or more this season.

Case Litchy continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 8-for-9 en route to 19 points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in field goal percentage (89%). Rylan Price was another key player, going 6-for-15 to rack up 16 points and four steals.

Shamokin Area smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Central Columbia had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 51-45 W against the Green Dragons.

Shamokin Area pushed their record up to 22-3 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points over those games. As for Central Columbia, their victory bumped their record up to 17-6.

Everything went Shamokin Area's way against Central Columbia in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Shamokin Area made off with a 69-46 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Shamokin Area since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
