Rancho Cucamonga was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 24-18 heartbreaker at the hands of the Roosevelt Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 14-12 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Rancho Cucamonga lost, don't look at Lizzy Brown. Despite the final result, she rushed for 171 yards and one TD on only 15 carries, and also threw for 88 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Brown is becoming a predictor of the Cougars' success: when she posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is 3-1 (and 1-4 when she doesn't).

Even if they lost, Rancho Cucamonga's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Gianna Carrillo was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two herself. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one sack the last four times she's played.

Rancho Cucamonga now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Roosevelt, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
