Baseball Recap: Tamarac Triumphs

Tamarac gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Hoosick Falls Panthers. This was a revenge game for the Bengals: when they faced off against the Panthers last Friday, they had to take a 11-8 defeat.

Tamarac let Troy Karz and Jacob Smith run wild. Karz scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3, while Smith scored two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Smith a new career-high in doubles (two). Dylan Gerik also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Tamarac kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Tamarac's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Hoosick Falls, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Tamarac will venture away from home to face off against Lansingburgh at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hoosick Falls, they will square off against Mount Anthony at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
