Volleyball Recap: Lakota West Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Lakota West had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Middletown Middies as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Firebirds have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Middies, too.

Leading Lakota West to victory were Allie Steckman and Zoee Briggs. Steckman had 24 assists and two aces, while Briggs had three digs and three aces. Steckman has been hot for a while, having posted 13 or more assists the last 18 times she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Lakota West was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in ten consecutive matches.

Lakota West's victory bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Middletown, they dropped their record down to 4-10 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Lakota West will host Fairmont at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Middletown, they are taking a road trip to challenge Harrison at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
