Football Recap: Kendrick Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Kendrick's offense. They were dealt a 56-0 loss at the hands of the Sumter County Panthers on Friday. The Cherokees were not able to make up for their defeat to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Ishmael Jones continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sumter County, throwing for 318 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 13.8 yards per attempt. Those 318 passing yards gave Jones a new career-high. Omari Woodard was Jones' top target, picking up 101 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

This is the second loss in a row for Kendrick and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Sumter County, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Kendrick has already played their next matchup, a 14-0 win against Hardaway on the 19th. As for Sumter County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 55-7 victory against Shaw on the 19th.
