Baseball Recap: Tarboro Vikings vs. Farmville Central Jaguars
Tarboro extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-9. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Farmville Central Jaguars. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 9-0 to the Jaguars when the teams met back in March of 2020, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Stephen Ribustello was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ribustello was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.
Ribustello wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Landon Browning, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.
As for Farmville Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games.

Kennedy has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
Coming up, Farmville Central will challenge North Pitt at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tarboro will be paying especially close attention to the Jaguars' contest: after the Jaguars face off against the Panthers, they'll take on Tarboro again at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
