Basketball Recap: Charleston Math & Science Takes a Loss

Charleston Math & Science was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by the St. John's Islanders 41-13. The Riptide were not able to make up for their defeat to the Islanders from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Charleston Math & Science lost, don't look at Cynay Taylor. Despite the final result, she posted five points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Taylor has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Charleston Math & Science's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for St. John's, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season.

Looking ahead, Charleston Math & Science will square off against Lowcountry Leadership at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. John's does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
