Basketball Game Preview: Trinity Episcopal Titans vs. Petersburg Crimson Wave

The Trinity Episcopal Titans and the Petersburg Crimson Wave will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Trinity Episcopal is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering St. Christopher's just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 54-41 to the Saints. The contest marked the Titans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Petersburg). They really took it to Carver College and Career Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 92-19 win. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 50-6.

Petersburg's win came from a few key players Trinity Episcopal will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jay'Vion Threatt, who made all 6 shots he took racking up 16 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Arkell Crenshaw, who went 8 of 10 on his way to 16 points and six steals.

Petersburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in seven consecutive contests.

Trinity Episcopal's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Petersburg, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.
