Soccer Game Preview: La Joya vs. Economedes

The La Joya Coyotes will venture away from home to challenge the Economedes Jaguars at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. La Joya is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

La Joya fell victim to Edinburg North and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 4-0.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Economedes duked it out with Edinburg on Tuesday. Economedes sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Edinburg. The Jaguars didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

Economedes' victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for La Joya, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.

La Joya took their win against Economedes in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for La Joya since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
