Baseball Recap: Pineville Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Pineville and Thomas Walker meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Mountain Lions came up short against the Pioneers, falling 22-11. The Mountain Lions have struggled against the Pioneers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Nasir Wilson and Kaden Taylor did some serious damage despite the final result: Wilson got on base in two of his five plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Taylor went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Wilson has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Landen Abner, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Pineville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Thomas Walker, the victory snapped their losing streak at nine games and leaves them with a 3-12 record.

As of now, neither Pineville nor the Pioneers have any future games scheduled.
