Northern Highlands put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down the Union City Soaring Eagles 24-8. For the Highlanders, this counts as revenge for the 20-6 victory the Soaring Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Union City's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Mario Medina, who rushed for 95 yards on only eight carries, and Naythan Pena, who rushed for 62 yards and one score.

Northern Highlands' win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Union City, they dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Northern Highlands will host NV - Old Tappan at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Highlanders 10.6, the Golden Knights 13.2) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Union City, they will venture away from home to face off against Montclair at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Soaring Eagles will be up against the Mounties' rather soft defense (which has allowed 47.6 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
