Baseball Game Preview: Lockport Porters vs. Lincoln-Way East Griffins

For the second straight game, Lockport will face off against Lincoln-Way East. The Porters will host the Griffins at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lockport has three straight wins, Lincoln-Way East has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Lockport is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Illinois' top teams: Lincoln-Way East, who was ranked fifth at the time (Lockport was ranked 14th). The Porters walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Griffins on Wednesday.

Lockport got a great performance from Martin Kinnane as he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave Kinnane a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

On the hitting side, Lockport's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Drew Satunas, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Joey DalPonte was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs.

Lockport's victory bumped their record up to 19-9. As for Lincoln-Way East, their loss dropped their record down to 21-8.
