Basketball Game Preview: Van Wert Cougars vs. Defiance Bulldogs

The Van Wert Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Defiance Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Van Wert turned things around against Lincolnview on Saturday. They walked away with a 66-54 win over the Lancers.

Meanwhile, Defiance's undefeated season came to an end after eight games on Saturday. They took a 68-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lima Central Catholic. The loss put an end to the Bulldogs' undefeated start to the season.

Van Wert's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-7. As for Defiance, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 8-1.

Van Wert opened the new year with a less-than-successful 59-46 loss to Defiance. Can Van Wert avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
