The Munford Lions are taking a road trip to face off against the Jacksonville Golden Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Munford will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Munford will bounce into Monday's game after beating Oxford, who they had gone 0-5 against in their five prior meetings. Munford's pitcher stepped up to hand Oxford a 6-0 shutout on Friday. Considering the Lions have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Not much got past Brooklyn Pressley (2027), who gave up just two hits to keep Oxford off the board. Pressley (2027) has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

Addyson Britt (2027)
| 03/07/25 @ Oxford | 3 |
| 03/01/25 @ Ragland | 2 |
| 03/01/25 @ Jacksonville | 2 |
| 03/01/25 @ Ohatchee | 2 |

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Addyson Britt (2027), who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kastin Lathem (2026), who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, Jacksonville waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 13-2 victory. That looming 13-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Golden Eagles yet this season.
Chloe Lockett made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off ten hits. That's the fewest earned runs she has allowed since back in February of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Jacksonville got a massive performance out of Lacey Barnes, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those doubles were Barnes' first of the season. Dailyn Wood was another key player, going 4-for-5 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Munford pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Jacksonville, their record is now 6-8.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Munford hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .374. However, it's not like Jacksonville struggles in that department as they've averaged .425. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Munford's way against Jacksonville in their previous meeting on Saturday, as Munford made off with an 11-4 victory. Does Munford have another victory up their sleeve, or will Jacksonville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
