Recap: Mullen Mustangs vs. Arapahoe Warriors
Even though the Arapahoe Warriors scored an imposing 65 points on Friday, the Mullen Mustangs still came out on top. Mullen managed a 71-65 victory over Arapahoe. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Mullen also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Jordan Leslie continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a triple-double on 16 points, 16 rebounds, and 16 assists. Leslie is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least three every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Bonner, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds.
Arapahoe's loss came despite strong showings from Cass Henry and Miles McMonigle. Henry scored 25 points along with five steals, while McMonigle scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Henry has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Joel Nichols, who scored nine points.
Mullen's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Arapahoe, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-9.
Mullen will head out on the road to square off against Denver South at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Denver South is coming into the matchup with five straight wins at home, so Mullen is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. Arapahoe will take on Overland at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Arapahoe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
