Basketball Recap: Elliott County Takes a Loss

Elliott County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the West Carter Comets 59-9. The Lions lost against the Comets in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 54-53 score last time.

Elliott County's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for West Carter, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record this season.

Elliott County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 52-17 defeat against Pike County Central on the 18th. As for West Carter, they will face off against Boyd County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
