Orosi had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 6-15-1 to make it four. They came up short against the Avenal Buccaneers, falling 18-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buccaneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-3 back in March.

Miah Lopez put in work no matter where she played. She pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and 17 unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Lopez wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Victoria Nieto, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
As for Avenal, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-4-1. Considering they have won 11 matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Orosi, Avenal also got a great game from a two-way player: Deztiny Hernandez. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Hernandez was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Layla Lopez, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Malia Parez was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Orosi has already played their next contest, an 11-7 win against Summit Charter Collegiate Academy on the 22nd. As for Avenal, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-3 victory against Mendota on the 22nd.
