Softball Game Preview: Lackey Chargers vs. Chopticon Braves

Lackey is 0-5 against Chopticon since May of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Chargers will square off against the Braves at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lackey took a 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Great Mills, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Chargers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over the Hornets on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Chargers.

Meanwhile, Chopticon strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitchers stepped up to hand St. Charles a 16-0 shutout. The Braves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

Lackey's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Chopticon, their victory bumped their record up to 13-0.

Lackey suffered a grim 17-0 defeat to Chopticon when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Can the Chargers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
