Basketball Recap: Weldon Takes a Loss

Weldon was the 79-66 winner over Northwest Halifax when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Weldon Chargers were dealt a 48-18 loss at the hands of the Northwest Halifax Vikings on Tuesday. The matchup marked the Chargers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Weldon's defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Northwest Halifax, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Weldon will face off against KIPP P at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Weldon is facing KIPP P at the right time seeing as KIPP P is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Northwest Halifax, they will take on Warren County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Daveion Richardson and Khalil Townsend.
