Preview: South Park Eagles vs. Southmoreland Scotties
South Park has been on the road for two straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Southmoreland Scotties at 5:30 p.m. South Park will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Southmoreland is ranked 54th).
Last Tuesday, South Park was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 49-43 to Seton LaSalle.
Meanwhile, Southmoreland put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 72-55 win over Ringgold. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
South Park's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Southmoreland, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0.
South Park came up short against Southmoreland in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, falling 44-31. Can South Park avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
