Softball Recap: Eastern Finds Playoff Glory Versus Manchester

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Eastern walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Manchester Greyhounds on Monday, sneaking past 12-10. The victory was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on four straight.

Aedre Ault 2028 was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Emma Putman 2025 was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base.

Eastern's win bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Manchester, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-4.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Eastern will challenge Symmes Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Manchester, they will square off against Fairfield at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
