Soccer Game Preview: Mountain Vista vs. Valor Christian

The Mountain Vista Golden Eagles will square off against the Valor Christian Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Mountain Vista's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Valor Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Mountain Vista is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Fairview by a score of 3-1. The result kept Mountain Vista happy, as they haven't lost a game since March 25th.

They hit Fairview with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jordan Hopkins, Peyton Love, and Avery Beer.

Meanwhile, Valor Christian faced Boulder in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Eagles' defense stepped up to hand the Panthers a 2-0 shutout. That's two games straight that Valor Christian have won by exactly two goals.

Valor Christian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3-2 record this season. As for Mountain Vista, their win bumped their record up to 13-1-2.

Mountain Vista skirted past Valor Christian 2-1 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Eagles since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
