Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pomona). They put the hurt on the Bassett Olympians with a sharp 25-13 victory on Thursday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Red Devils as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
Lorena Salinas-Munoz was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and six RBI. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (two). Mayrin Hernandez-Linares was another key player, going 5-for-6 with six RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Pomona always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .848. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Pomona's victory bumped their record up to 2-11. As for Bassett, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.
