Softball Recap: Geneva Knights vs. Winter Park Wildcats
On Friday, the Geneva Knights fell victim to a rough 16-10 loss at the hands of the Winter Park Wildcats. Geneva has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Katie Classe was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Storms, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
On Winter Park's side, Rylie Scanlon was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and a double. Torun Vetelino was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.
Geneva now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Winter Park, their victory bumped their record up to 13-8.
Geneva will head out on the road to challenge Seminole at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Seminole is coming into the contest with five straight wins at home, so Geneva will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum. Winter Park will take on Trinity Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity Prep's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Winter Park's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
