Baseball Recap: Johnston Comes Up Short

Johnston made up a huge gap compared to their last game against North Providence, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Panthers fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 6-4 on Monday. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Johnston saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luca Ricci, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another was Matt Clements, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Johnston's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for North Providence, their win bumped their record up to 12-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Johnston will host Toll Gate at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Providence, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Prout at 4:45 p.m.
