Baseball Game Preview: Hillcrest Hawks vs. Richards Bulldogs

Hillcrest is 0-8 against Richards since May of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Hawks will head out on the road to square off against the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m.

Hillcrest is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Tinley Park, falling 10-1.

Meanwhile, Richards entered their tilt with Argo on Tuesday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Argonauts an 11-0 shutout.

Richards' victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Hillcrest, their loss dropped their record down to 3-17.

Hillcrest suffered a grim 15-3 defeat to Richards in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
