Softball Recap: Rio Hondo Prep Has No Trouble Against Flintridge Prep

Rio Hondo Prep won the last time they faced Flintridge Prep and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Kares were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Wolves. The result was nothing new for the Kares, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

ALLIE SCOTT made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. SCOTT was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, TARA RILEY and SAM MONTEZ did most of the damage at the plate: RILEY scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while MONTEZ scored two runs while going 2-for-4. JANNA TAFLINGER was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases.

Rio Hondo Prep has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Flintridge Prep, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Coming up, Rio Hondo Prep will be playing at home against Westridge at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Kares are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Flintridge Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mayfield at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cubs have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
