Football Recap: Rutherford Rams vs. Blountstown Tigers
Rutherford lost against Blountstown back in September of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Rutherford Rams fell to the Blountstown Tigers 27-21. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Although Rutherford took the loss, they still got scores from Khazion Rochelle and Chaz'Ton Scott.

In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Bray'Lyn Hurd. His also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making two total tackles and defending a pass in addition to snagging two interceptions. Rutherford got some further help from Eric Olds: he made 15 total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended two passes.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Blountstown to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kayin Martin, who rushed for 185 yards.
Rutherford's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Blountstown, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rutherford will venture away from home to square off against Chipley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Blountstown, they will have plenty of time to enjoy the win as they don't play again for a while. They'll take on Port St. Joe at 7:30 p.m. on September 13th.
