Basketball Game Preview: Tri-State Christian Huskies vs. East Moline Christian Eagles

The Tri-State Christian Huskies will venture away from home to take on the East Moline Christian Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. East Moline Christian took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Tri-State Christian, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Tri-State Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Morning Star Academy, taking the game 38-26.

Tri-State Christian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Owen Reibling, who almost dropped a double-double with nine rebounds and 11 assists, and Nehemiah Smith, who went 7-for-12 to rack up 15 points and three steals. Those 11 assists gave Reibling a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jack Eells, who posted nine points.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Tri-State Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Morning Star Academy only racked up seven.

Meanwhile, East Moline Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-42 heartbreaker at the hands of Morning Star Academy.

East Moline Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Tri-State Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Everything came up roses for Tri-State Christian against East Moline Christian in their previous meeting back in February, as the team secured a 53-20 win. Do the Huskies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
