Basketball Recap: Jolee Deweese's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Platteview over Yutan

Platteview lost against Yutan back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Platteview Trojans received a blow as they fell 58-41 to the Yutan Chieftains. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Platteview's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jolee Deweese, who posted 11 points. Maddy Stukenholtz was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Mylee Tichota continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Yutan, scoring 23 points. Another player making a difference was Amelia Dieckman, who had 13 points.

Platteview's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Yutan, they pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Platteview will venture away from home to challenge Nebraska City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Platteview is facing Nebraska City at the right time seeing as Nebraska City is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Yutan, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Ashland-Greenwood at 6:00 p.m.
